Students will learn to create beaded tassels using different size and shapes of beads to create a variety of tassel styles including ombre color blending.  Instruction will include techniques for attaching tassels to braids and other jewelry designs using different styles of beaded covers.

No Hassle TasselsStudents will learn to create beaded tassels using different size and shapes of beads to create a variety of tassel styles including ombre color blending.  Instruction will include techniques for attaching tassels to braids and other jewelry designs using different styles of beaded covers.

These tassels are great for making kumihimo braids into lariats and can also be used to add elegant accents to other jewelry designs. Class does not include kumihimo instruction.

Skill Level: Intermediate   Some bead weaving experience for the tassels is helpful, but not required, peyote stitch and right angle weave experience only needed for the tassel covers.

Technique Learned: Bead Weaving

Kit Includes:

  • Toho seed beads in a variety of colors and sizes
  • beading needles
  • printed tutorial

Supply list for students to bring:

  • bead mat/work surface
  • beeswax/Thread Heaven
  • magnifying glass
  • beading thread of choice
  • ruler/tape measure
  • scissors
  • task lamp with extension cord

Students may bring their own bead colors, pearls, crystals and/or gemstones to customize their tassels.
