Parking: The Marriott/Oakland Convention Center has a parking garage. Entrances are on Clay Street and 11th Street. Currently the daily fee is $22.00. There are also a large number of surface lots in the downtown Oakland area and several covered lots north on Clay St.

Public Transportation:

Consider taking BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit ) or an AC Transit bus, saving the $22.00 parking fee (which you could spend on beads!).

The Oakland Convention Center is located across the street from the 12th Street BART station and is within easy walking distance of a number of AC Transit Bus Lines. Remember that free, convenient parking is available at many East Bay BART stations on weekends. You can park your car at the station and take BART to the Convention Center. (For weekday parking, be sure to check the rules at the station you park at)

An easy to use trip planner for BART, Muni, and AC Transit is available at: www.511.org.

Airport:
The Bay Area is served by flights arriving at several airports. The most immediate andconvenient is the Oakland International Airport. Some attendees may prefer to fly on carriers that utilize the San Francisco International Airport.

Transportation from Airports:
Airport Shuttle Service: The Bayporter Express offers fast van service from both the Oakland and San Francisco Airports. This is a much less expensive alternative to regular taxi fares. For more information, including fees, please call the Bayporter Express at 415 467-1800.

GoldenGate
BART: For the lowest cost (and often fastest) transport, both the Oakland and San Francisco Airports have connections to the BART system, whose 12th Street station is across the street from the Oakland Convention Center. The San Francisco Airport has a BART station within walking distance of the airport terminals, and the Oakland Airport has a bus connection called AIRBART.
