Description:
Torch Enameling is hot, literally! No kiln? No problem. Learn how to use your butane torch to hand fire enamel onto metal.

A perfect 4-hour introduction to the art of enameling, this is a basic class for the beginner new to enameling (fusing glass) on to copper or anyone who has enameled, but wants to learn how to use a torch to do so.

In class you can create a variety of fused glass designs – pendants, matching earrings, charms for a bracelet, while learning Steven’s tips and tricks he only shares in class. With enameling the design ideas are endless and the outcomes completely unique every time your fire! Don't miss out and register in advance.

Kit includes:
  • Several copper shapes
  • copper cleaner and sponge
  • firing trivet
  • mesh sifter
  • dust mask
  • take home enameling color kit
Tools and equipment available for students to use during class: Full access to the Color Buffet. Full access to additional tools to further embellish enameled projects

Supplies to bring:
  • bent nose pliers
  • paper & pencil
  • small jewelry tweezers
  • one 12x12 flat ceramic tile
  • small towel for cleaning
  • glasses (safety glasses
  • firing tripod and kiln brick (optional) if you are NOT bringing a firing tripod and kiln brick, you must bring two basic masonary bricks, butane torch (Instructor prefers Blazer torches)
  • one glossy coated magazine
  • Rubber ink stamps with bold designs
  • Small stencils
  • decorative edging scissors or paper punches
  • if you prefer to clean your projects at your desk, please bring a small plastic container.
A few butane torches will be available for use, however, if you BYOBT (Bring your own butane torch) you will maximize your firing time. A limited number of firing bricks will be available in class, however students should bring their own, thus increasing their firing opportunities and improving their class experience.
